A family and all of their pets are OK after a small fire in Sun Valley. It broke out on Carol Drive Friday night. Everyone and 11 dogs and seven cats made it out safely. No word yet on what sparked the fire.
Three murder suspects wanted in California are now behind bars after evidence of their crimes was found in Reno. Police say Michael Griff, Austin Hogan, and Kyle Smith are accused of shooting and killing brothers Jerry and Randy Bonds of Florida. Their bodies were found in a wooded area of Forbestown in northern California.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a spike in vehicle burglaries. They have 17 reports in the past five weeks. They say among the items stolen that’s most concerning–handguns.
An Elko County man faces life in prison after he was convicted of murder. The Elko Daily Free Press reports Alan Honeyestewa got into a gun fight during a home invasion. He ended up shooting and killing 33-year-old Brad Smith in 2018.
