Carson City joins a list it doesn’t want to be on. It’s been flagged as having a high COVID-19 transmission rate. The Nevada Appeal reports Carson City’s positivity rate is over 8 percent and its cases are double the threshold of 200 cases per 100,000.
Governor Steve Sisolak says Nevada is gearing up to receive COVID-19 vaccine. The state has submitted its playbook to the CDC that shows front-line medical workers will get the vaccine first. Sisolak also announced he’s planning to increase capacity at conventions by 50 percent in the New Year.
OSHA has fined Douglas County and ABS Aviation which manages the Minden-Tahoe Airport for hosting President Trump’s rally in Minden. The state says the event did not get proper approvals needed because of the pandemic. Both fines total just over $5,000 combined.

Washoe County elections officials have begun counting ballots received by mail. So far, it’s received more than 82,000 vote-by-mail ballots. They say about 45 percent of the population has voted so far, and more than half did so by mail. You can watch ballots be counted on a livestream on Washoe County’s YouTube page.
