Carson City joins a list it doesn’t want to be on. It’s been flagged as having a high COVID-19 transmission rate. The Nevada Appeal reports Carson City’s positivity rate is over 8 percent and its cases are double the threshold of 200 cases per 100,000.

Washoe Co. begins counting vote-by-mail ballots

Washoe County elections officials have begun counting ballots received by mail. So far, it’s received more than 82,000 vote-by-mail ballots. They say about 45 percent of the population has voted so far, and more than half did so by mail. You can watch ballots be counted on a livestream on Washoe County’s YouTube page.

Reno’s Ormat wants to build renewable energy plant in Gerlach

A renewable energy plant could be coming to Gerlach. Ormat Technologies, based in Reno, wants to build there.
