The Tahoe basin snowpack is sitting at just under 200% of average. KOLO says recent storms have helped the area snowpack. The Walker River basin is at 254% of average, and the Carson River basin is near that point.

Patrol car hit multiple times

A Nevada Highway Patrol car was hit multiple times near Lockwood on Sunday morning, prompting State Police to remind drivers to slow down and move over for first responders. The Trooper was on I-80 responding to an incident, and was inside of the vehicle when it was hit. No one was injured.

Governor names Economic Development leader

Governor Joe Lombardo has named a leader for the Office of Economic Development. He’s appointed Tom Burns, and that appointment will become effective on January 30th. He’ll succeed Michael Brown, who stepped down in December. Burns was previously with an insurance company in Las Vegas.

RSV cases fall

The Washoe County Health District says cases of RSV continue to decline. From Jan. 15 to Jan. 21, the county saw 34 cases of RSV, off from 66 the week before. The health district says the number of COVID 19 cases is steady.

Wreck on 580 is fatal

One person died in a wreck on 580. The Highway Patrol says a car was sitting disabled on the right shoulder, and a person was standing outside the vehicle and was hit. It happened just south of the Mount Rose Highway exit.

Suspect arrested in fatal crash

Authorities have arrested a man in connection to a fatal crash that happened in Sparks on January 17th. A woman was crossing an activated crosswalk when she was hit by a driver. Yesterday, Vincent Hoff was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
