Six arrests for suspected DUI over Super Bowl weekend

The Reno Police Department arrested six people for suspected DUI this past Super Bowl weekend. Overall, police made 80 traffic stops for suspected impaired driving. Six offers and one sergeant worked DUI saturation patrols. The patrols were paid for by the state.

Suspect caught after standoff

A suspect is in custody after a four-hour standoff in Reno. The suspect was wanted in California. Police learned the suspect was at a Motel 6. The standoff started at 5:30 p.m. and was taken into custody later in the evening. There were no injuries.

Douglas County HS gets two AEDs

Douglas County High School has gotten a donation of two AEDs – the automatic external defibrilators – from Carson Valley Medical Center. One of the AEDs will go in the commons of the high school, and another will be located in the 400 Hall. The new G5 AEDs replaced the discontinued G3 models.

Pedestrian hit by truck

A pedestrian was hurt after being hit by a vehicle in Sparks last night. KOLO says a man was crossing McCarran Boulevard outside of a crosswalk, near Nugget Avenue, when he was hit by a Toyota pickup truck. The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.

Man arrested for allegedly firing gun inside

Sparks police arrested a 34 year old man who allegedly fired a gun inside his home on Monday night. Police had responded to a domestic disturbance call at the home. Dustin Salaun surrendered peacefully after negotiations. He’s facing multiple charges.
