1,200 educators, healthcare workers get COVID-19 vaccine

As many as 1,200 people got the COVID-19 vaccine this weekend at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. They included health care workers and educators. All got the Pfizer vaccine. The health district says it will be releasing follow-up information to those over the age of 75 who fall under Tier 2 to get vaccinated.

Police look for auto shop burglar

Sparks police are looking for a man who burglarized a auto repair shop in the city. They say the suspect broke into the business Saturday and stole several items including a white 2013 Ford F-150 with an extended cab pick-up. The door of the stolen truck has a “CORE Construction” logo on it.

Volunteers needed for Washoe County Medical Reserves Corps

Washoe County needs volunteers for in the battle against COVID-19. They’re seeking medical professionals and just average citizens to join the Washoe County Medical Reserves Corps. They need help supporting public health and emergency response efforts as well as help at vaccination sites and test sites.

Child hurt after sled crosses onto Mt. Rose Highway

A child is hurt in a sledding accident over the weekend. Troopers say the child was skiing in the Sheep’s Flat area when their sled crossed onto Mt. Rose Highway, and they were struck by a vehicle Saturday. The extent of the child’s injuries wasn’t known, but they didn’t appear to be life-threatening.

Man found dead along Truckee River

A man is found dead near the Truckee River in downtown Reno. The discovery was made Sunday on a walking path behind the Reno Automobile Museum. Police believe the person may have been living at a nearby homeless camp and don’t believe the man’s death is suspicious.
