One person was hurt in a shooting in Reno. KOLO says it was reported at Southwest Village Apartments at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Police say the shooting might have started with a dispute between neighbors. The person was taken to a hospital.

A 23-year-old woman is facing charges of child abuse causing great bodily harm and open murder, after a house fire that left a child dead. Samantha Paulino told authorities she left her three-year-old daughter and two-year-old son at home alone while she went to register for college classes.

Douglas County extends property tax payment deadline

The Douglas County Clerk/Treasurer has extended the deadline for property tax payments to March 20 at 5 p.m. due to offices being closed on March 10 and March 14. This extension will provide time for taxpayers to pay their payments without adding penalties or interest to those payments.

Police looking for armed robbery suspects

Elko police are looking for armed robbery suspects. Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Sinclair Gas Station on North 5th Street on March fourth. Two suspects fled the scene. A customer who was inside the store had been held at gunpoint.

Pedestrian killed crossing U.S. 50

Nevada State Police say a pedestrian was killed while crossing U.S. 50 east in Carson City. KOLO says the pedestrian walked across U.S. 50 outside of a crosswalk and was hit by an eastbound vehicle near Nye Lane.
