10,700 Christmas trees recycled by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful

Nearly 11,000 Christmas trees were turned into mulch for parks projects as part of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful’ s annual Christmas tree recycling program. Residents can also use the mulch free-of-charge; it’s available for pick-up at Bartley Ranch. Anyone who still has a tree can recycle it at RT Donovan in Sparks.

COVID deaths rise across the state

Washoe County adds five COVID-19 deaths for a total of 573. The latest deaths involve four men in their 70s and 80s and a woman in her 90s. All had underlying health conditions. Washoe County’s Medical Reserve Corp needs more volunteers to help get COVID-19 vaccine shots in arms. It’s a great job for retired medical personnel.
