The Quad-County region adds one new COVID-19 death for a total of 170. The man who died was from Carson City and in his 60s. The area added 106 new cases and 120 recoveries Thursday.

Nearly 11,000 Christmas trees were turned into mulch for parks projects as part of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful’ s annual Christmas tree recycling program. Residents can also use the mulch free-of-charge; it’s available for pick-up at Bartley Ranch. Anyone who still has a tree can recycle it at RT Donovan in Sparks.

Washoe County’s Medical Reserve Corp needs more volunteers to help get COVID-19 vaccine shots in arms. It’s a great job for retired medical personnel.
