The Sierra Avalanche Center warns of ongoing, moderate avalanche danger areas of high elevation in the Greater Lake Tahoe region with another winter storm arriving. Small to large avalanches were triggered over the weekend. They add signs of instability may not be visible. The urging you to take necessary precautions before recreating in the backcountry.

RAVEN helicopter aids in two rescues

An injured hiker is rescued by Washoe County sheriff’s deputies. The RAVEN helicopter was needed for Sunday’s rescue near Davis Creek Regional Park. The extent of the hiker’s injuries isn’t known. NDOT Announces Overnight Ramp Closures

Nevada Department of Transportation announced overnight ramp closures on the spaghetti bowl and Second Street. The closures will begin Jan. 31 as new ramp alignments are constructed. All construction activities and times are subject to change and are weather dependent.
