Snowpack now doubled at Mt. Rose

The latest storm has doubled snowpack at Mount Rose. Hydrologists say 8 inches of water content has been added to snowpack. With snow 74 inches deep at the summit, snowpack is 78 percent of normal. It’s also good news for Lake Tahoe which saw precipitation on the surface rise significantly.

Washoe deputies cite nearly 100 drivers in distracted driving campaign

Washoe County deputies cited nearly 100 drivers were cited during increased distracted driving enforcement. Of those 25 were cited for distracted driving while 19 were cited for speeding. Nearly 50 were cited for motor vehicle registration violations. Another Joining Forces campaign focusing on impaired driving starts later this week.

Monday was Opening Day

Nevada legislative leaders stressed bipartisanship on the opening day of the legislative session that’s expected to bring tense policy discussions about pandemic restrictions, taxes and budget cuts. Lawmakers kicked off their four-month legislative session on Monday with swearing-in ceremonies scaled back to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
