Despite restrictions easing in Nevada, UNR won’t be changing up its plans for the rest of the semester. President Brian Sandoval says they’ll continue remote learning for classes with 35 students or more. Other classes are a mix of remote and in-person learning. A virtual commencement is also planned for May 14th.
Washoe County saw no new deaths from COVID-19 Sunday but picked up two deaths Saturday for a total of 640. Sunday, the county added just 20 new infections and 190 recoveries.
Icy conditions over the weekend caused a 17-car pile-up on I-80 near Sparks. Troopers say people were driving far too fast for the conditions when the chain-reaction crashed occurred Saturday. Three people were hospitalized with minor injuries.

A missing snowmobiler is presumed dead after an avalanche near Lamoille Canyon. It happened Saturday just before lunchtime. One of the snowmobilers was able to ride out for help. A second was evacuated with injuries, and a third remains missing.
