Police now say a man who was found unresponsive in midtown Reno and later died at the hospital suffered a medical event. They say no criminal activity occurred in the death of 58-year-old Meinrado Rivera, who was found at Vassar Street and Holcomb Avenue Saturday.
The Reno Aces have pushed the opening of their season until May to allow vaccines to be more widely distributed to players. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the decision was made across Minor League Baseball. The Aces’ first game will be a road game May 6th. They’ll play their home opener May 13th against Las Vegas.
Two children are hurt in an ATV crash in Spanish Springs. Firefighters say neither child was wearing protective gear when the ATV overturned Tuesday. Both were hospitalized.
A Utah man is arrested on kidnapping charges in Elko County. Deputies pulled over Santiago Nieves along I-80 in West Elko for speeding. They say his vehicle contained a 15-year-old girl he met online who they say he was planning to take out of the country without her parents’ permission.
Sparks police are looking for a purse snatcher. They say a man caught on surveillance stole an 83-year-old woman’s purse from her cart from a shop on the 2800 block of Vista Boulevard earlier this month.
El Dorado County is moving down on the COVID-19 risk dial. They’re moving from the most restrictive tier-purple-down to red. That means limited indoor dining at 25% capacity can be offered. Retailers can open at 50% capacity while movie theaters and gyms are at a lesser capacity.

Authorities say a suspect in a Reno homicide was taken into custody over 200 miles away after a chase involving officers from multiple agencies.
