Reno asks state legislature to lift tax caps

The City of Reno is asking the state legislature to lift caps off taxes so they can raise money to maintain parks, recreation centers, trails and pools. The pandemic led to cuts for parks and recs and there no plans to replace those workers. The city estimates it needs as much as $200 million.

Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Reno

A pedestrian is struck by a car in Reno. It happened last night at Moana Lane and South Virginia Street. Police say the pedestrian suffered moderate injuries and had to be hospitalized. The driver is cooperating with authorities.

Winter hike series ends Saturday

Reno Aces get new field

The Reno Aces have a new major league field. They’ve got a brand new diamond and outfield at Greater Nevada Field for better playability. KOLO-TV reports fans will also notice new LED lighting and netting. The Aces’ home opener is scheduled for May 13th against the Las Vegas Aviators.
