A Reno man is arrested after deputies say he killed a horse. Forrest Smith faces charges of willful and malicious torture and killing of an animal. Deputies say they also realized he’s a Tier 3 sex offender who’s out of compliance after failing to register.
New legislation aims to address a nursing shortage in Nevada brought to light during the COVID-19 pandemic. A blown transformer sparks a fire in Sparks. Firefighters were called to Greg Street and Industrial Way last night after they say flames spread the nearby trees and brush. The fire also led to some power outages. No one was hurt.
Nevadans who are 16 and 17 years old are getting vaccinated at Renown. The health care system is offering the Pfizer vaccine, which is the only vaccine approved for that age group.
