The Sparks Police Department is investigating the hit-and-run of a pedestrian on Brierly Way near Vista Boulevard and Interstate 80 late Wednesday night. It happened about 9:44 p.m. KOLO 8 reports police did not immediately release the condition of the pedestrian, who was taken to the hospital.
Two people are out of their home after a fire Thursday morning on Buena Vista Ave in Reno. The call came in at around 6:45 and arriving firefighters found fire spreading in one half of a duplex. One person was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Washoe County School Board Trustees unanimously voted to fund WCSD’s three-year strategic plan with an estimated total of $10 million. According to News 4, trustees also voted to upgrade school bus camera systems and purchase more than 1,300 student laptops to address learning loss, among other improvements.
