Steer clear of Teglia’s Paradise Park due to contamination in the pond. City officials say a blue-green algae bloom has formed as a result of drought conditions. They say the algae contains toxins that can harm your health as well as the health of any pets.

A Washoe County Sheriff’s Office sergeant is on administrative leave after being arrested earlier this month on domestic battery and DUI. Reno police handcuffed Levi Smith on September 11th. He also faces charges of obstruction and resisting arrest.

Man critical after being struck by vehicle in northeast Reno

A man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle in northeast Reno Friday night. Police say the 54-year-old man was walking across Sutro Street near Timber Way when he was hit. He was hospitalized. The driver was also hospitalized for minor injuries and is cooperating with police.
