Convicted sex offender back behind bars in Sparks

Sparks police arrest a convicted sex offender on child porn charges. Shane Lynch, 22, who’s a Tier 2 sex offender, is accused of felony possession of child porn and violating the conditions of his probation. He was sentenced for child porn possession in December of 2020.

An all-day stand-off ends peacefully in northwest Reno. Police arrested a wanted man who had barricaded himself inside a vehicle near Robb Drive and Sharlands Avenue late yesterday morning. Containment on Caldor Fire grows to 75%

Containment is growing on the Caldor Fire. Firefighters say the 219,000-acre wildfire is now 75% contained. The Highway 50 Corridor partially reopened yesterday morning to commerce and residents of private and damaged property.

50 cited in distracted driving enforcement in Reno

Fifty people were cited in the latest distracted driving crackdown in Reno. Police were patrolling areas where they receive the most complaints – along Virginia Street from 9th to Sierra and in Midtown on Virginia Street from California to Plumb Monday. A dozen others received warnings.
