Sparks police arrest a convicted sex offender on child porn charges. Shane Lynch, 22, who’s a Tier 2 sex offender, is accused of felony possession of child porn and violating the conditions of his probation. He was sentenced for child porn possession in December of 2020.

A man is dead in a single-vehicle crash in Sparks. Police say a box truck crossed the center line of Sparks Boulevard and hit a brick wall late Tuesday night. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fifty people were cited in the latest distracted driving crackdown in Reno. Police were patrolling areas where they receive the most complaints – along Virginia Street from 9th to Sierra and in Midtown on Virginia Street from California to Plumb Monday. A dozen others received warnings.
