An Ely State Prison employee is arrested after trying to smuggle drugs into the prison. Angelica Aguilar is accused of trying to bring in a half-ounce of meth for an inmate at the prison in White Pine County. She worked in food service. Now, she’s behind bars on a $20,000 bond.
Two convicted sex offenders are back behind bars after failing to register in Washoe County. Emmett Thigpen, 52, who was a Tier II sex offender, convicted for crimes against children, failed a 90-day compliance check. Donated RVs are going to those who’ve lost everything in California wildfires. Woody Faircloth and his 9-year-old daughter are driving the motorhomes from Colorado to California. They donated their 95th RV recently. Faircloth aims to give wildfire victims temporary housing since they can often wait months for emergency housing.

A major marijuana grow operation is shut down in Douglas County. The DEA says the grow was happening on more than 20 acres of tribal land in Gardnerville. A $2,5000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a teen’s killer. Police say a 15-year-old boy was gunned down outside an apartment complex in Richards Place in Sparks Monday night. They believe the shooting was gang-related.
