1 hospitalized after fight in Reno

A person is hurt after a fight in Reno. Police say two people got into a fight –one brandished a knife and the other armed with a baseball bat — went at it on the 500 block of Linden Street last night. One person was hospitalized.

New Catholic bishop to be installed in Reno

Reno is getting a new bishop. Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg will be installed as the city’s eighth bishop in a special mass today at St. Rose of Lima Church. Mueggenborg replaces Bishop Randolph Calvo who is retiring.

Reno City Council will consider a ban on whips in downtown Reno. Reno police say whip usage went up more than 60% over the last few years, especially in fights. Body found in Lake Tahoe identified

A body found in Lake Tahoe has been identified. Police say the body belongs to 77-year-old Manouchehr Tajeran who they believe was homeless. Tajeran’s body was found 50 feet from the shore by a person walking on September 6th. Police say he died from accidental drowning.
