News Staff One gunshot, two injuries in Reno. Police were called to a domestic on Kietzke Lane Wednesday evening where they found in the injured parties. Both were taken to the hospital. No information about the severity of their injuries or on what lead to the shooting.
34 year old Alex Hanson is under arrest, charged with murder in the death of his roommate on Cameo Court in Reno. Police found 62 year old Jeffrey Falkenstein dead on the living room floor. He died by strangulation. An investigation led authorities to Hanson as the prime suspect in the case.
A Sparks man accused of allegedly firing shots at his home on the 1500 block of I Street, barricaded himself inside the home after police arrived and was holed up for several hours. A pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash on northbound 395 Monday night. The crash took place on US-395 north between Parr Boulevard and Panther Drive, resulting in lane closures. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. No word on whether the driver or drivers involved stayed on the scene.

A three-alarm apartment fire in Reno was caused by a construction heater. The blaze broke out Friday night at the Ballpark Apartments in downtown Reno RFD says the fire started when construction crews left the heater on to dry drywall. KOLO 8 reports the blaze was confined to the northwest corner where it started.
