Competitions tested the development of walking and flying robots with multi-modal perception systems.
Former Atttorney General Adam Laxalt kicked off his U.S. Senate campaign at a restaurant in South Reno Friday. In his speech, Laxalt says America has abandoned its traditional values. He likened the government overhaul bill, supported by Democrat Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, as the U.S. taking another step towards becoming a socialist country.
The Caldor Fire is approaching full containment as firefighting efforts enter their 50th day. The more than 221,000-acre fire is now 93% contained. While smoke continues to create unhealthy air in the Tahoe Basin, it’s not from the Caldor Fire. It’s from the KNP Complex fire.
The Reno Aces see an early end to their season. The Triple-A baseball team games at Greater Nevada Field canceled Thursday through Sunday due to health and safety protocols. The Aces finished their season with a 70 and 54 record.
An Illinois man is killed in a chain-reaction crash that happened in a construction zone in Elko County. Police say it happened on U.S. 93 between Wells and Jackpot when they say a moving truck failed to stop for a flagger and hit a van, which then triggered the chain-reaction crash involving several more vehicles. … Read more
Several cows died in a crash in Churchill County. Troopers say a cattle truck overturned on U.S 95 about four miles south of I-80 Friday. Troopers say the truck nearly missed colliding with crossing arms for train tracks when it rolled over. The driver wasn’t hurt.
