Reno man arrested on child porn charges

A Reno man is arrested on child porn charges. Police handcuffed 27-year-old Jason Dobbs on child porn possession and two counts of using or allowing a child to be used for pornography. His arrest comes after a report was filed with Sparks Police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Reno bans whip usage downtown

Reno has banned whip usage downtown. Whips are now included in the municipal weapons code and carrying them requires a permit. City council passed the ordinance amid a growing number of calls to police about people mistaking whip cracking for gunshots.

Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Reno

A pedestrian is hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Reno. It happened Wednesday night at Fifth Street and Keystone Avenue. Police say the pedestrian suffered serious head injuries. So far, no one’s been cited.
