Governor Steve Sisolak was hospitalized briefly after a crash. It happened in southwest Las Vegas Sunday afternoon. Police say Sisolak and the other driver were both hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. The governor was released a few hours later that same day and was reportedly resting at home.

The results of a new study find just how much Lake Tahoe depends on tourism. Sparks firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire at a shopping center. They were called to Dotty’s Casino on Wingfield Hills Road just after midnight. They managed to control the flames before they spread to any nearby businesses. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a pedestrian who was fatally struck in Carson City. Troopers say 38-year-old Allen Lynch of Dayton was walking along U.S. 50 east of Deer Run when he was hit last Wednesday. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sales of legal pot have surpassed $1 billion for the fiscal year that ended on June 30. The final total was $300 million more than 2020 sales, which totaled $684 million. Nevada’s K-12 schools benefit from taxes paid on pot sales. They netted $159 million.
