Former IGT chairman Chuck Mathewson dead at 93

The former leader of a Reno gaming giant who was also a well-known philanthropist has died. Chuck Mathewson, who led International Game Technology died October 24th after a brief illness at his Reno home. UNR’ library is named after him due to generous donations. It’s known as the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center. Mathewson was 93.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver to face charges in fatal crash

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III will be charged with DUI causing death after a crash this morning in Las Vegas. Police say Ruggs, in a corvette, rear-ended an SUV killing the driver of that vehicle just after 3:30 a.m. Ruggs was hospitalized and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police suspect he was impaired.

DUI arrests down in Washoe County over Halloween weekend

All in all, it was a relatively safe Halloween. Authorities says DUI arrests over the holiday weekend in Washoe County were down. 22 were arrested between Thursday and Sunday, that’s compared to three dozen over Halloween weekend last year.
