A baby is recovering after being exposed to fentanyl. Truckee Meadows firefighters and Washoe County deputies were called to a home on Whites Creek Lane yesterday morning. 1 dead in fire in midtown Reno

One person is dead in a weekend fire in midtown Reno. Firefighters arrived on-scene Saturday afternoon to find smoke pouring from a home on the 300 block of Arroyo Street. Inside, they found one person dead. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Hundreds of children ages 5 to 11 got their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the Washoe County Health District’s weekend clinic. Burglars are targeting slot machines in bars and restaurants in Washoe County. Police say a suspect vehicle involved may be an older small or mid-sized Chevy pick-up truck with white and red paint. Police are asking business owners with slots to take extra precautions.

Storm to bring snow to areas of higher elevation Monday night

A storm is bringing gusty winds to the Reno-Sparks area, snow to the Sierra, and light rain in the western part of the state. The snow line drops to about 6,500 feet this evening though areas of higher elevation are predicted to see some solid snow. Travel is expected to be tricky over mountain passes.

Teenage motorcyclist killed in school bus crash identified

A teenage motorcyclist killed in a crash with a Washoe County school bus has been identified. Ricardo Gomez, 17 of Sun Valley was pronounced dead at the scene of last week’s rash at Eagle Canyon Drive and Richard Springs Boulevard in Spanish Springs. No students on the bus were injured.

5 nabbed for DUI in Reno

A handful of people are arrested in ramped up DUI enforcement over the weekend in Reno. Police made three dozen stops Saturday, and five people were arrested on DUI charges. Another six were cited for traffic violations.
