Thousands of Washoe County School District elementary and middle school students will soon qualify for a bus ride following the hiring of more than a dozen new drivers. According to the Reno Gazette Journal, starting in 2024, students will qualify for transportation if they live a mile or more from their elementary school and 2 miles or more from middle school. The district expects new bus routes to start on Feb. 20.
