Esmeralda Co. to drop indoor mask mandate Friday

Nevada’s least populated county will drop its indoor mask mandate this week. Esmeralda County has seen “low” COVID-19 transmission rates for two weeks, enabling it to drop the mask mandate as of Friday. Face masks are still required for unvaccinated people in the county of less than 1,000 people. Just 35% of eligible persons in Esmeralda County are fully vaccinated. Washoe County, meantime, continues to see “high” transmission rates by CDC standards.
