New City of Reno hires will have to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Anyone hired to work for the city of Reno after September 2, 2021, will need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination – or they won’t have a job. The new policy was announced Monday by city manager Doug Thornley. News 4 reports Reno is the first local government in northern Nevada to have a policy of its kind. Sparks says it has no plans to mandate vaccination. Any existing employees who are unvaccinated will be required to wear N95 masks starting next week.
