The University of Nevada Reno’s plans to acquire Sierra Nevada University move forward. The state Board of Regents approved the merger Friday though approval is still needed from federal regulators. If approved, UNR President Brian Sandoal says they could acquire the 20-acre private liberal arts college on the shores of Lake Tahoe by July of next year.
