An earthquake near Lake Tahoe is felt in the Reno/Sparks area. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 3.6 magnitude quake struck just before 12:30 p.m. Monday. It was centered under the lake, shaking an area southeast of Dollar Point on the North Shore. A smaller, 2.9 magnitude quake then rattled Tom’s Place, south of Mammoth Lake.
