The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office adds a mental health counselor to its staff. The position was approved by county commissioners earlier this week. Sheriff Darin Balaam says the position will serve as an outlet for deputies to turn to help and cope. Baalam says it comes at a critical time in our country and aims to ensure all staff is mentally and emotionally well. The new counselor starts April 1.
