President Trump denies Nevada’s request for full federal funding of the National Guard’s ongoing efforts to respond to COVID-19. The White House says the federal government will now only pay 75 percent of Nevada’s costs through the end of the year though it pays the full cost in other states. Now, the state will have to use federal CARES Act money to make up for the 25 percent loss. In a statement Governor Steve Sisolak says he’s disappointed and that there’s no rational justification or this. He says he’ll urge the president to reconsider his decision.
