Another fire –this one burning nearly 200 miles away in central California is causing unhealthy air here in the Truckee Meadows area The Creek Fire broke out Friday night. It’s burning timber, brush, and litter in the Sierra National Forest and has scorched more than 70 square miles. The National Weather Service says the fire continues to burn with “scary intensity.” The flames trapped more than 200 people in a campground who had to be airlifted to safety by the California National Guard. A dozen people were hurt–two remain critical. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
