Las Vegas police officer shot in Floyd protest heads to spinal center out-of-state

A Las Vegas police officer, who shot in the head during a protest against the death of George Floyd last month is now getting medical treatment out-of-state. The Las Vegas Review Journal reports Shay Mikalonis was transported to McCarran International Airport by a procession of police and fire vehicles Wednesday. He’s heading to an unnamed facility for specialized treatment for spinal cord injuries. Mikalonis is now paralyzed from the neck down.
