The Carson City School District and Tahoe unified schools are closing all schools for several days due to staffing shortages caused by a surge of COVID-19 cases.
All schools will be closed today and Friday. Schools are closed Monday due to Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The district is encouraging all families to continue their daily self-screenings. If any employee or student is showing any symptoms of illness, they are strongly encouraged to stay home. While closed, schools will undergo thorough cleaning and sanitizing.
