Former state lawmaker Robert Weise is picked by Carson City supervisors to finish out the remainder of Republican state Senator Ben Kieckhefer’s term. Kieckhefer’s seat spans both Carson City and Washoe County. Washoe County commissioners meet Tuesday to name their pick for a replacement, and both commissions will convene Wednesday for a final pick. Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner and Washoe County Planning Commissioner Larry Peyton plan to run for the in 2022.
