Reno is seeing a rise in pedestrian crashes this month, which also happens to be National Pedestrian Safety Month. The Nevada Highway Patrol says there were 59 pedestrians killed in Washoe County between 2015 and 2019. Statewide, 368 pedestrians were killed. 2 News reports the NHP says the sun setting earlier could play a role in the rise in crashes, but distracted driving is also to blame.
