Palisades Tahoe opens up the slopes

A massive early snowstorm has led Palisades Tahoe to open up the slopes Friday. The opening is nearly a month earlier than planned. The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports this marks one of the resort’s earliest openings in history, marking just the third time in more than 70 years it’s opening in October. Skiers haven’t been able to hit the slopes here in October since 2004. The resort will open Friday through Sunday through mid-November; then, it will open seven days a week.
