A big chunk of the Sparks Marina walking path has been shuttered as a new construction project begins. The closure is on the southwest corner of the Marina to Harbour Cove Court. It lasts until November.
Southwest Gas is reminding you to call 811 before you dig. They say they’ve seen a spike in damage to natural gas pipelines from people doing last-minute home projects. If you call that number, within two days, utility companies will come out and mark lines and underground cables and pipes so you don’t strike them.
Reno firefighters battle a house fire. They were called to University Loop, just north of UNR’s campus. They arrived to find smoke pouring from the home, but say damage appears mostly to the home’s garage and fence. No one was hurt, a dog did need treatment.
The Washoe County Health District says it’s given out 2,000 third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The next vaccine pod will be this Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. You don’t need an appointment.

Competitions tested the development of walking and flying robots with multi-modal perception systems.
