South Lake Tahoe Police arrest a suspected looter. Officers say they caught Juan Cuevas, who was stealing a bike from a home that had been evacuated during the Caldor Fire. This marks the third arrest for looting in the area in recent days.
A man is arrested in connection with a convenience store robbery in Sun Valley. Twenty-three-year-old Clyde Phillips was charged with robbing the Quick Stop at West First Avenue and Sun Valley Boulevard at gunpoint early Saturday. Surveillance video helped police find him.
Wildfire evacuations in the Lake Tahoe area have led to price gouging. Rides to the airport were going for eight times the usual rate and hotel stays were four-times their usual rate. Two people and two dogs are homeless are a fire in South Reno. Reno firefighters were called to Broken Jill Road Saturday afternoon. No one was hurt in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
