RFD saves apartment building from fire

Reno firefighters save an apartment building from fire. They were called to Kirman Garden Apartments yesterday afternoon. Twenty units were evacuated-and all were saved-though inspectors still have to determine whether they can be inhabited again. They say the fire started outside the building with the flames traveling into the attic.

Sun Valley fire damages 3 buildings

Truckee Meadows firefighters are still trying to figure out what caused a fire in Sun Valley. They say fire broke out in a small trailer that spread to a mobile home and a vehicle on Ted Court Tuesday. At least three buildings were damaged, but no one was hurt.

Non-essential travel to South Lake Tahoe still limited

While residents are being allowed to return home to South Lake Tahoe, visitors are still being told to stay away. Non-essential travel is still being limited, and many stores remain closed. Bears have also been spotted in evacuated neighborhoods combing through trash. The Caldor Fire spans more than 216,000 acres and is about 44% contained.
