Red Flag warnings keep firefighters on high alert

Red Flag Days Thursday and Friday could hamper firefighters trying to get a stronger handle on the Caldor Fire. The fire remains largely unchanged from yesterday-spanning nearly 218,000 acres. It’s about 50% contained. So far, the fire has destroyed nearly 1,000 structures.

Man fatally shot in Reno identified, suspect arrested

We now have the name of a man who was fatally shot in Reno on Labor Day. Kimmone Bowley, 24, of Reno was shot and killed on Talus Way near North Virginia Street late Monday night. Police say the fatal shooting was an isolated incident, and there’s no ongoing threat to the community.
