Air quality is improving in the Reno-Sparks area. The Washoe County Health District has ended its Stage 2 Air Quality Emergency Episode that was issued a week ago. The Great Reno Balloon Races are back and happening this weekend in Rancho San Rafael Park. Friday’s races were canceled due to weather with lightning expected. But Saturday and Sunday races are on-schedule. As many as 100 balloons are expected in the sky and 120,000 people are expected on the ground.
A Reno man is heading to prison for nearly two decades. Christopher Held was found guilty of a burglary in Somersett and an attempted burglary in northwest Reno. He got 17.5 years due to past felony theft convictions.
We now have the name of a woman killed in a crash in Yerington. She is 29-year-oldd Katianne Turner of Wadsworth. Police say Turner’s vehicle rear-ended a truck on Mason Road. Turner and a man were airlifted to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
