Washoe County already had to exclude students from the first day of school due to possible COVID-19 exposure. Some parents at Marce Herz Middle School in South Reno got a message that their child was exposed to COVID-19. The district can’t say how many students were excluded or notified as they’re awaiting data from the health district. But those who were notified must sit out until August 20th, if they’re unvaccinated. Any child under 12 isn’t eligible for vaccination.
