We now have the name of an experienced cliff diver who died in a jump from the Lake Britton Bridge last week. He is Don Gorum. Gorum, who was 23, was a member of the Silver State Hotshots, and had been fighting wildfires since 2017.
A man wanted in connection with a carjacking in Las Vegas and an armed robbery in Hawthorne is caught in Fernley. The suspect was handcuffed following a stand-off yesterday that prompted a shelter-in-place order for those living at the Villa Mobile Home Park.
Fire in a garage spreads to a home in Reno. Firefighters were called to an area east of the Summit Mall yesterday afternoon. They say a portion of the home’s roof caved in on the second floor-leaving it uninhabitable. One firefighter suffered a minor injury, but no one inside the home was hurt.

Carson City’s Krysta Palmer medals at the Olympics and makes history while doing it. Palmer took home the bronze medal in the women’s three-meter springboard diving event. She’s the first woman to win a medal in this event in more than three decades. Palmer competed for UNR and served as a volunteer coach after graduation.
