Containment holds steady on Tamarack Fire

The Tamarack Fire, burning south of Gardnerville, isn’t growing in size. The fire, sparked by lightning on July 4th, stands at nearly 69,000 acres. Containment holds steady at 80 percent with full containment slated for the end of this month.

Reno woman gets life in prison in stepdaughter’s killing

A Reno woman gets life in prison for the murder of her young stepdaughter. Averyauna Enoch was convicted of first-degree murder. She had been on trial for starving her stepdaughter and helping her husband dispose of the little girl’s body. She was found in a duffel bag in a California storage unit in 2018.

10 arrests made surrounding Hot August Nights

Reno police arrest 10 people during Hot August Nights. Police say two of the arrests were felony charges and eight were misdemeanors–all allegedly occurring at venues in and around the classic cars and rock and roll festival. More than 30 people were also cited for traffic violations.
