Washoe County is seeing a spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations among young adults. Health officials say more adults between the ages of 30 and 50, who are unvaccinated, are being admitted, according to The Reno Gazette-Journal. Between 10 and 20% of hospitalizations are in vaccinated people–none of them are in the ICU. Washoe County remains on the “very high” level on the Truckee Meadows COVID Risk Meter with a test positivity rate of 19%–nearly as high as it was in December. Washoe County is seeing 187 new cases on a seven-day moving average. Fifty-nine percent of the county’s population is fully vaccinated.
