Laxalt files to run for US Senate

Former Republican Attorney General Adam Laxalt files to run for U.S. Senate-ending speculation. Laxalt, who was expected to confirm his candidacy at this weekend’s Basque Fry in Gardnerville, filed Monday. He plans to try to unseat Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto, who became the first Latina elected to the Senate in 2016. Laxalt previously ran for governor but lost to Steve Sisolak.
