Gov. Sisolak Declares State of Emergency

Governor Steve Sisolak has declared a state of an emergency for the massive Caldor Fire. The Caldor Fire forced mandatory evacuations for all of South Lake Tahoe Monday morning. Declaring a state of an emergency ensures resources from local, state and federal levels are available to assist as needed during the emergency. The massive blaze has not reached Nevada as of Monday afternoon. State agencies in the Silver State will continue to work in close coordinator with California partners and those at the local and federal level, according to the governor’s office.
