The Beckwourth Complex Fire now spans nearly 93,000 acres. Nearly three dozen homes in Lassen County have burned. The lightning-sparked fire is just over 65 percent contained. It’s made up of the Sugar and Dotta Fires-the Dotta Fire, much smaller is mostly contained. Experts say the area right now is so dry that if you drop a match, it will ignite a new fire.
