State troopers say mechanical failure caused a fatal crash in Silver Springs last month. Police say a tractor-trailer driver was unable to slow his rig due to mechanical failure he crashed into another vehicle on U.S. 50 Alternate and U.S. 95 on May 28. Both vehicles burst into flames killing the driver of the car. The driver of the truck had to be taken to the hospital by chopper with serious injuries.
